Every Goldenwood piece is made to order in our Wetherill Park workshop — nothing is held in stock, and no two commissions are the same, so we do not publish prices. What we can tell you is exactly what a quote is built from, how it is produced, when it locks, and what you pay at each stage. Read this page and you will know what your project depends on before you talk to us.
Four things move the number.
These are the choices that change what a piece costs to build. We will not pretend to weight them for you on a web page — the point of the consult is to price your brief, not an average of everyone's.
The timber or board
Furniture is made in solid timber, and the species you choose changes what the board costs us to buy and to work. Kitchens, vanities and fitted joinery are built in engineered board. A commission is not limited to the collection — any timber on our materials page can be ordered in.
Size and configuration
Dimensions, the number of drawers or doors, how a piece is split for access, whether a table extends — the build hours and the board follow the drawing, so the shape of the brief sets much of the figure.
The finish
Oil on solid timber; 2-pack paint or polyurethane on joinery, with stone tops where the design calls for it. Different finishes take different amounts of bench time and different materials.
Site measure and install, for joinery
Fitted work is measured on site, drawn to the room, and installed by our own crew. Where access is restricted — a hoist, a crane, a piece that must be split for transport — we quote that work separately before we build.
Four questions, before the consult.
Knowing what moves the number is not the same as knowing yours. These are the four things we need from you before a project can be costed at all — and what each one actually tells us.
What kind of project
A single piece — a dining table, bed, sideboard, desk. Kitchen joinery, made to the room. Full-home joinery, multiple rooms with built-in work in each. Or an apartment or commercial fit-out, at developer or office scale.
It tells us which kind of work you are asking for: furniture in solid timber, or fitted joinery in engineered board that has to be measured on site, drawn to the room and installed by our own crew.
What scale
A piece is compact (1–4 seats / small), generous (6–8 seats / large) or statement (10+ seats / oversized). A kitchen is a galley or single run, a family kitchen with island, or a kitchen plus butler's and scullery. A home is 2–3 rooms, 4–6 rooms, or whole home. A fit-out is a single floor or display home, multi-floor or several homes, or a whole development.
Scale is the second driver above, and the one that moves most. The build hours and the board follow the drawing, so until we know how big and how many, there is nothing to count.
What finish tier
Standard — quality hardwoods, clean finishes. Premium — select timbers, refined detailing. Top-tier — rare hardwoods, the finest finishes.
This is the first and third driver at once. The species changes what the board costs us to buy and to work, and different finishes take different amounts of bench time and different materials.
When you need it
Within 3 months. 3–6 months. 6–12 months. Or just exploring — which is a real answer.
Most pieces ship 8–14 weeks after sign-off, and that can vary with workshop load and timber availability. Your date tells us early whether it is achievable — better said now than after you are attached to it.
Answering these does not produce a figure, and we will not pretend otherwise — the enquiry form already asks your project type, your budget and your timeline. Tell us those and the consult starts from the right place, with the drawings and the itemised quote to follow.
Itemised, then locked.
You do not get a number before we have drawn the thing. You get one after — itemised, line by line, against drawings you have seen.
Consult
We meet at your home or in our Wetherill Park workshop, talk through the brief, walk the room, and pull a tray of timber samples and finishes.
Design
We measure, draw, and build immersive 3D visuals so every proportion is settled before the first cut. Two design rounds are included.
Itemised quote
You get a written, itemised quote — not a single lump figure. It is valid for 30 days from the date we issue it.
Design confirmation locks it
Once you confirm the design, the itemised quote is locked and production starts. We only revise the price if you change the brief.
Locked means locked. The figure you sign is the figure you pay, unless you change what you asked for.
A deposit to start, a progress payment to build, the balance to finish.

A 10% deposit starts the shop drawings and the design phase.
- On design confirmation
A 40% progress payment starts production. Confirming the design is what locks the itemised quote.
- On completion
The balance is payable on completion, before delivery or pickup.
- On full payment
Ownership of the piece passes to you. Risk passes on delivery, or on completion of installation where we install.

Two design rounds
Drawings and 3D visuals are revised twice as part of the design stage, before anything is cut.
Two inspection checkpoints
One before finishing for structure, one after for the final surface — nothing leaves the floor unless we would keep it ourselves.
10-year craftsmanship warranty
Ten years on craftsmanship, lifetime on hardware. Outside the warranty, send it back anyway — we'll repair it at fair cost, no matter when you bought it.
Delivery and install, arranged with you
In Sydney our own crew delivers, unwraps, places the piece and takes the packaging away; further afield we coordinate specialist furniture transport. Both are arranged and quoted as part of your commission.
