Goldenwood measures your wall, draws the unit to it and fits it with its own crew, whether it is built around a TV, a library or a wine collection. The Barossa and the Cronulla are media walls with a TV recess; the collection also has library and wine-display walls, a glazed hutch and a room divider, and the full-wall built-ins go floor to ceiling.
Can a built-in wall unit hold the TV, the soundbar and the cables?
Yes. The Barossa Built-In Wall Unit is drawn for exactly that: a recess for the TV with a shelf above it and a soundbar shelf below, two drawers and two open media bays, a glass-door cabinet with three adjustable glass shelves on one side and stepped display niches with integrated lighting on the other. It is designed to keep cables and ventilation out of sight.
As listed it is 3600 mm long, 2200 mm high and 450 mm deep at the media bays, in American Oak with a walnut-tone matt two-pack finish. Yours is drawn to your wall: its size, the layout of its bays, the timber and the finish can all change.

What are custom wall units made of?
Most of the wall units are Tasmanian Oak; the Oakridge Corner Wall Unit is Tasmanian Blackwood and the Barossa American Oak. Glass fronts the Grayson Library, Vintara Wine Display, Elin and Oakridge Corner units.
On the Barossa and the Avignon, the tops, shelves and facings are solid timber and the carcass is veneered board. The Avignon pairs solid Tasmanian Oak facings and lippings with a Tasmanian Oak veneer carcass, in satin white two-pack; the Barossa is solid American Oak over American Oak veneer. On both, the two-pack colour can be matched to your room.
Every built-in is sprayed in two-pack polyurethane before it goes out, and a commission can use any timber on the materials page, not only the ones in the collection.
How is a built-in wall unit fitted?
It is measured on site and drawn to the room, then fitted by Goldenwood's own crew. The Avignon shows the method: it is supplied in sections and joined on site, fixed to the studs with concealed brackets, and scribed to the walls and ceiling for a seamless built-in look. The Barossa is scribed to the walls and skirting and sits on a shadowline base.

- Can a wall unit match the colour of my room?
- Yes. The Barossa and the Avignon are both listed with colour-matching available on the two-pack finish.
- Is a wall unit the same as a TV unit?
- No. A wall unit is built-in joinery, fixed to the wall and installed by the crew. A TV unit is a single low cabinet, either standing on the floor or hung on the wall like the Forster and the Ettalong. If you want the TV set into a full wall of cabinetry, you want a wall unit.
- Can a wall unit divide a room?
- Yes. The Manly is a built-in room divider, with geometric open shelving either side of a central feature panel.
- Do you make wall units for offices?
- Yes. Goldenwood takes on fit-outs for apartments and offices, and the collection includes the Kingsley Office Wall Unit in Tasmanian Oak.
- Can a wall unit be drawn with the kitchen and wardrobes?
- Yes. A wall unit can be drawn together with kitchen, wardrobe and vanity joinery, and with furniture for the same house.
