Low upholstered platforms, panelled timber beds and a four-poster: Goldenwood's wooden bed frames are made in Tasmanian Oak, American Oak or a timber you choose. Everything about a bed can be customised: its size and height, the bedhead, the timber and the fabric.
What wooden bed frames are in the collection?
Platform beds sit low. The Nimbus is about 300 mm off the floor and the Isla about 320 mm. The Noosa floats its platform under a wide headboard with two carved lattice inserts and built-in side ledges, and the Kiama Four-Poster raises a canopy over a low platform base in Tasmanian Oak.
Panelled beds carry the detail in the timber. The Langford and the Berrima have dentil-moulded cornices over panelled headboards and footboards on turned feet, the Estelle a beaded mould round its headboard frame, and the Nowra is the plain version: a framed panel headboard on square legs.
Upholstered beds put the fabric at the head. The Siena Platform and the Stirling Channel run full-width vertical-channel headboards, the Lorne a scalloped, channel-stitched head with a matching footboard, and the Bowral a tall upholstered headboard. The Sorrento sets a button-tufted insert into a panelled frame under a moulded cornice.

What kind of bedhead can a bed have?
Upholstered or timber, drawn with the bed. The Isla has a three-panel upholstered headboard, the Nimbus wraps scalloped panels from the head right round to the foot, and the Camille puts a wingback with diamond tufting and antique nickel nailheads on an American Oak bed. For a timber head, the Langford has a panelled headboard and footboard under a stepped cornice, and the Estelle a profiled solid Tasmanian Oak headboard frame.
What sizes can a timber bed frame be made in?
Any size you need. For scale, the Isla, Siena, Langford and Stirling Channel are drawn at king size, 2,180 mm long and 1,930 mm wide, and a king bed or larger sits on hardwood slats with central support legs. The sleeping platform is about 300 mm high on the Nimbus, 320 mm on the Isla and 360 mm on the Siena, Langford, Camille and Estelle.
Which fabrics and finishes are there?
The fabrics shown are ivory bouclé on the Isla, natural bouclé on the Nimbus, graphite velvet on the Siena and Stirling Channel, and oyster linen on the Camille, and the Nimbus can be covered in other fabrics. The timber is finished in two-pack polyurethane, from light greige matt on the Estelle to espresso satin on the Langford, and on the Isla, Siena, Stirling Channel, Langford, Camille and Estelle that finish can be colour-matched.
How long does a bed take?
Plan on 8–14 weeks from design confirmation, which is when most catalogue pieces ship.

- Can I get bedsides and a tallboy to match the bed?
- Yes, from the same design. The Wellington comes as a bed, a bed side, a tall boy and a dresser, all in Tasmanian Oak, and the Stirling, Arden, Langford and Belmont also share their names with a bedside or a tall boy.
- Can a bed be made in a timber that isn't shown?
- Yes. The frame can be built in anything on the materials list, or in a species Goldenwood sources for the job.
- What if something is wrong when it arrives?
- Have the fault written on the delivery sheet, then email photos to admin@goldenwoodfurniture.com.au within 7 days.
