What are Goldenwood's timber desks made from?
Solid timber. The Sloane Executive Desk is American Walnut, with an 80 mm top on a fluted pedestal inlaid with brass. The Ellis Study Desk sets an 80 mm Spotted Gum top on Tasmanian Oak panel legs. The Langford Heritage Desk is Jarrah, the Bruny Desk is Tasmanian Blackwood on splayed legs with a single pencil drawer, and the Everton Work Desk and the Hurstville are American Oak.
Tasmanian Oak is the timber of the Colette, the Everton Study Desk, the Westbrook and the Kanso Workstation Suite. The Colette is ebonised, so the oak reads almost black under its antique-brass knobs.

What size desk do I need for one screen or two?
Count the screens first. The Colette's workspace guide puts one person with a laptop or a monitor at 1,200–1,600 mm of desk, and two monitors with their peripherals at 1,600–1,800 mm. The Ellis and Sloane guides allow 1,600–2,000 mm for two monitors.
The Colette, Ellis and Sloane are drawn 1,800 mm long and 730 mm high, 700 to 850 mm deep, and the Bruny 1,750 mm long and 780 mm high. Those are starting points, not fixed sizes: any desk here can change its length, depth, height, timber and finish, so a 1,400 mm alcove gets a 1,400 mm desk, in any timber on the materials page or one Goldenwood sources for you.
Is there a corner desk, or one with storage above?
Yes. The Epping Corner Desk is an L-shaped built-in study desk with drawer pedestals, a floating shelf and a row of overhead cupboards. The Hurstville Desk with Hutch is a long American Oak desk on a drawer pedestal, with a matching wall-hung cabinet above it.
The Vaucluse Executive Desk has a drawer pedestal each side, panelled ends and an inset writing surface, and the Chatswood Office Desk pairs a full-height panel leg with a drawer pedestal. Where space is short, the Narrabeen is a compact desk with one drawer on thick waterfall panel legs.
How are cables kept off the desk?
They are planned into the desk. The Sloane Executive Desk has concealed cable paths that keep the work surface clear, and the Ellis Study Desk pairs tidy cable routing with knee-well drawers and generous legroom.
Where the desk is part of a wall, the Regent Library Wall goes further: bi-fold pocket doors close over the monitor, a keyboard and trackpad shelf pulls out, and a rear pass-through and power cavity carry the leads.
How long does a desk take, and how is it guaranteed?
Count on 8–14 weeks from design confirmation for most desks, and on a 10-year warranty against any defect in the joinery, structure or finish; the custom furniture page walks through the steps in between.

- Is a Goldenwood desk solid timber?
- Yes. Furniture is made in solid timber. The Ellis and Sloane tops are 80 mm thick and the Colette's 32 mm.

- Yes. The Epping Corner Desk is built in, with overhead cupboards along the wall, and the Regent Library Wall hides a monitor bay and a pull-out keyboard shelf between two glazed bookcases.
- Can I see the timbers before choosing?
- Yes. The showroom at 6 Coates Place, Wetherill Park, holds a sample board for each working timber and every finish, on the same floor as the workshop. Goldenwood can also post a small set of timber chips and finish samples.
